Danish operator TDC is ending its MVNO in the UK, easyMobile. The company said it was unable to attract a sufficient number of subscribers and it’s unlikely easyMobile will gain the necessary scale in the near term. EasyMobile UK has around 80,000 customers, who have been given notice that service will end on 16 December. Staff have also been given notice. The move follows EasyGroup revoking its licence to TDC for the Easy brand name, saying the Danish company had not given enough management attention in the past year to fully developing the easyMobile activities. TDC already shut down easyMobile Netherlands earlier this year, while easyMobile Germany will be renamed callmobile and continue as a MVNO, having already established a substantial customer base.
