China Mobile to invest US$300m in Pakistani Zong

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Investment of US$300 million has been planned by China Mobile into Zong, its Pakistani subsidiary during 2010 to upgrade the mobile network. An investment of US$1.66 billion has already been made by the Chinese company till now in Pakistan along with the investment of US$600 million in the closing fiscal year 2008-09.

The news has been announced by Mr. Wang Jianzhou, Chairman of China Mobile Communications Corporation who is visiting Pakistan with CMCC’s delegation.

In the 2009, the operator had 6.9 million customers reflecting 7% of the total market share in a country which has a population penetration level of 55%.
