Deutsche Telekom is planning to cut 2,000 of the total 6,500 jobs at its head quarters in Bonn and in other central offices, according to German newspaper Berliner Zeitung, citing a concept cost cutting program from Deutsche Telekom’s personnel boss Thomas Sattelberger. The job cuts would need to be done before 2010 to bring DeTe’s central offices to the same level of effectiveness compared to other large companies with similar personnel levels. The company did not want to react, but a spokesman said to the newspaper that plans are being made about making the central offices more effective.
