Mobilcom wants to acquire German fixed operator – CEO

German telecommunications service provider mobilcom is looking for a fixed network operator to acquire, according to CEO Eckhard Spoerr talking to German press agency dpa. He said that mobilcom currently has EUR 520 million in cash for a possible acquisition, but did not name possible take-over candidates. According to industry sources, mobilcom is interested in Tiscali Germany. Spoerr also said that his company has no plans to acquire its smaller competitor on the mobile market, Drillisch, because their customer base is mostly prepaid, thus has no strategic value for mobilcom.
