Orange UK to launch HTC Hero in July

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: A firm named as Android Data Corp. has filed a lawsuit against Google over the Android OS which the firm is backing as part of the Open Handset Alliance. According to Android Data Corp., Google’s use of the name Android may cause confusion among people as to which firm is being referred to.
The complaint, filed by Erich Specht of Palatine, Illinois, claims that Google’s actions and its business partners “will undoubtedly lead to deception, confusion and mistake among the consuming public,”
The trademark application for the name Android was initially rejected in February’08 by the USA’s trademark body, as the prior trademark was held by Specht’s firm.
However, the company Android Data Corp. has not traded for around four years and Google initially appealed the USPTO ruling that its Android trademark should be granted. Specht is now seeks damages of up to US$100 million.
