Aerosmith drummer challenges fans to “Hit Hard” competition

Rock solid rhythms of Aerosmith’s legendary drummer, Joey Kramer is unbeatable. However now iPhone users can challenge their drumming skills on Kramer’s recently launched iPhone application Hit Hard”. This move has come after celebrity Services Company Paid Inc. collaborated with Kramer to challenge iPhone fans drumming skills with a new application.

According to Keith Garde, President of Paid Inc. Boston, Aerosmith and Joey Kramer have always been about connecting with their fans in the most cutting-edge ways and this new application is another step in that direction. It consistently continues to support the band in reaching their fans in whatever platform, technologies and methods they are using.

The application also has a different feature for those users who do not want to compete with Kramer’s beat. These users can create their own beats in a freestyle play. Each level in the game has a mock lesson where users can tap the correct sequence to match his beat. Players who will be able to finish all the levels of the game can enter the high score contest for a chance to win a prize from Kramer.

According to Garde, though the application is currently available only for the iPhone and iPod touch, the company is looking forward to expand it into other smartphone platforms.

Four ZTE Android smartphones to be launched

ZTE is all set to change its low-cost handset maker image and enter into the business of higher smartphone market. Android-powered smartphones will supposedly be the next big target of this Chinese company. However, the latest venture to find its way to the market is 4ZTE phones. These phones are expected to circulate even outside China.

ZTE Smooth, the Palm Pre like device has features like Android 1.6, 2.8-inch QVGA display, QWERTY keyboard, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM radio, and 3g (UMTS) connectivity. ZTE Blade is another high-end device and has features like Bluetooth, Android 1.6, WiFi, FM radio, GSM/UMTS connectivity and 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen.

ZTE Racer another Android 1.6 phone will have 3G, WiFi, GPS, and 2.-inch QVGA while ZTE Mercury, which is a look-alike of HTC Hero comes with 3.2-inch HVGA display, GPS and EDGE data.

The only problem these Android phones are expected to come across is the distribution otherwise ZTE is super committed to Android.  The ZTE Smartphones will soon be popping on every comer of Europe and US.

French telco SFR contracts NSN for network expansion

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) has been awarded a three-year contract by French cellco SFR to expand its mobile broadband coverage, enhance service quality and pilot LTE. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.

SFR’s radio network will be upgraded and all-IP packet core technology capable of supporting 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) services will be provided, operated and maintained by NSN under this deal. NetAct network management system and ‘charge@once’ charging and billing solution will also be provided by NSN.

According to Nicolas Huguet, head of SFR customer team at NSN, in order to maintain its leadership on new innovative services, SFR is constantly offering superior network quality. And therefore, it is looking at next-generation networks to deliver leading-edge services and superior customer experience.

U Mobile’s subscribers to roam on DiGi network

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: The subscribers of 3G operator U Mobile can now roam on DiGi’s EDGE network as the company has signed a 3-year domestic roaming agreement with DiGi.

The roaming agreement with DiGi will allow U Mobile subscribers to enjoy voice, SMS and data services (GPRS/EDGE) nationwide including flawless hand-over of voice calls from U Mobile’s 3G network to DiGi’s 2G network.

DiGi’s EDGE networks will formally be inducted only after the domestic agreement with Celcom ends, thus making it an exclusive provider of domestic roaming traffic services for U Mobile. Celcom and U Mobile signed a domestic roaming agreement, limited to voice and SMS in 2007.

BH gives Ericsson’s Croatian unit new 5.9Mn GSM contract (Bosnia & Herzegovina)

BH Telecom given Croatia-based technology provider Ericsson Nikola Tesla a new contract for GSM mobile network expansion worth HRK30 million (USD5.9 million). With immediate effect, the contract covers expansion of BH Telecom’s GSM/GPRS/EDGE infrastructure to allow for continued user base growth, as well as faster and more reliable mobile voice and data access across the network.
