AT&T launches updated FamilyMap iPhone apps (USA)

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: FamilyMap iPhone application’s updated version along with a number of features has been announced by telecom operator AT&T. The updated version allows users to locate family members and see their whereabouts directly on their mobile phone.

More locations and points of interest can be customized by the users besides their own devices with labels. Ability to check family members’ schedules, set up landmarks, pan through the map to locate people, locate family members’ on-demand, and send messages to family members from within the FamilyMap application are some of the new features of the updated version.

$10 per month is charged for two lines and $15 per month for up to five lines.

The service enables the subscribers to locate any number on their AT&T account at a monthly fee of $9.99/month for two phones or $14.95 for five phones. Besides the first notification SMS alert that subscribers are being tracked, everything else is silent. The service doesn’t only use cell tower triangulation; it actually activates the GPS chip.
