Global Crossing meets target for positive Q3 EBITDA
Global Crossing has met its target for positive EBITDA in the third quarter, posting a profit of USD 7 million, excluding one-time items. That compares to a loss of USD 17 million in the second quarter. Revenues for the period amounted to USD 466 million, up by USD 5 million from the second quarter but down from USD 481 million a year earlier. The net loss narrowed to USD 51 million from USD 95 million a year ago thanks to lower operating costs and taxes. Global Crossing reiterated its outlook for the full year for lower revenues of USD 1.8-1.9 billion and adjusted EBITDA between a loss of USD 20 million and a profit of USD 5 million. The company is currently in the process of completing the earlier announced takeovers of Fibernet and Impsat.
