Friendi MVNO launch in Jordan supported by Zain
www.WirelessFederation.com/news: A strategic cooperation agreement has been signed between MVNO Friendi Group and Africa and Middle East operator Zain. Under the deal, MVNO service in Jordan can be operated by Friendi through Zain’s existing network and provide offers and services to specific customer segments.
According to Zain Jordan CEO Abdul Malek Jaber, the strategic agreement with Friendi Group is in line with Zain’s overall strategy that is based on targeted and segmented acquisitions in light of the current market situation which has reached saturation with the number of subscriptions exceeding the number of inhabitants.
The services in Jordan will be launched by Friendi Group in Q2 2010, targeting the pre-paid consumer market.
Axiata enters into collaboration agreement with Friendi Group
www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Axiata Group Berhad (Axiata), entered into a Collaboration Agreement with Dubai-based Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), Friendi Group FZ-LLC (Friendi), with the intention of collaborating to address expatriates working in the markets Axiata and Friendi operate in.
Amongst the areas of collaboration to be explored is the possibility of setting up co-branding and MVNO relationships between the two Groups. The terms of the Collaboration Agreement will also look at the provision of content and services to this group of people working in the Middle East as well as to their families. (more…)
