Brazilian mobile operator Vivo has launched a pre-paid internet plan for US$5.94 per 30 days, or for US$0.19 per day.

When withdrawing the subscription, the value of the Vivo Internet Brazil Pre Internet is automatically deducted from the total credits of the subscriber.

Customers can try out the service for ten days, by requesting it via SMS. Customers can also contract the service using an SMS. The service is compatible with WAP devices and smart phones and provides for a monthly use of up to 20 MB of data at a maximum speed of 1 Mbps. If this limit is exceeded, the speed is reduced to 32 kbps.

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Belgian operator Belgacom will launch its revamped internet offerings on March 1, 2010. Internet Start with 2 GB is the entry-level package; Internet Comfort with 8 GB is the standard package and Internet Favorite with 75 GB will be the heavier usage package.

EUR 18.90 per month will be charged for Internet Start with speeds at 2 Mbps, EUR 32.50 for Internet Comfort with 12 Mbps speed. Internet Favorite and Internet Intense will provide 20 Mbps for EUR 42.90 and EUR 56 respectively. Larger mailbox volumes of 1 GB will benefit all packages.

Additional volume could be bought by customers exceeding their data limits. with Start and Comfort customers paying EUR 1 per extra 1 GB and Favorite clients EUR 5 per extra 20 GB. Both new and existing customers can avail the new offering.

Bulgaria’s Globul announced that it will offer a 5% reduction to mobile subscribers who also take out the Globul Landline service. also a 10% reduction will be offered to those who take the Mobile Internet Package as well.

Telegeography writes…A report published by the French telecoms regulator Arcep says the total number of VoIP-based calls doubled in 2006 and accounted for 25% of total fixed line calls in France over the year. The watchdog added that IP telephony subscriptions have also doubled since the end of 2005 on the back of the increased availability of broadband access alternatives. The number of people signed up to high speed internet packages reached 12.7 million by the start of this year.
