Malaysia releases tender for universal mobile service
www.WirelessFederation.com/news: The Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Commission has released a tender to select universal service providers for mobile services. The operators interested in the licence will have to submit bids to cover one or more areas by 15 June, and the regulator will select up to two providers for each area. The providers will also be compensated for the costs of rolling out services to the under-served areas.
