Network supply deal signed between ZTE and Cell C (Africa)
www.WirelessFederation.com/news: South African mobile operator Cell C along with its controlling shareholder Oger Telecom signed a network supply and managed services agreements with ZTE. Under the agreement, Cell C will receive GSM/UMTS network turnkey solutions and operations services in total USD 378 million.
Product sales and engineering services are specified in the agreements in relation to ZTE’s daily operations. The project is expected to be completed within three years.
Nokia wins Vodafone Australia managed services deal
Nokia and Vodafone Australia have signed a USD 230 million, seven-year managed services agreement which includes the engineering, operations and maintenance of Vodafone’s HSDPA, 3G, GPRS and GSM networks. Under the deal, Nokia will be responsible for managing Vodafone Australia’s ongoing network operations covering HSDPA, 3G, GSM and core networks infrastructure including the detailed design, engineering, optimisation operations as well as network management, monitoring, fieldwork and maintenance services for the networks. Vodafone Australia will transfer related employees and contractors into the services business unit of Nokia Networks.
