Protugal Telecom upgrades MEO mobile TV service (Portugal)
Portugal Telecom upgrades its MEO mobile TV service, launched in 2006, with the assistance of the Mobile Series video encoding platform from Envivio. Vera Pinto Pereira, head of marketing at PT, said: ‘This new solution from Envivio has improved the viewing experience for our users by delivering better video quality and higher service reliability. We are confident that our investment in the upgrade of our encoding platform will pay back very quickly through higher levels of service adoption and customer retention.’
The MEO mobile service will now offer 37 channels of content including 23 live channels and 14 playlist channels.
