Blyk Media raked in by Orange to power Orange Shots

Blyk Media, the original pioneer of the ad-funded mobile model, will power the mobile advertising service that enables brands to engage and interact directly with targeted segments of Orange’s customer base
The service will offer free music and texts to users when they top up their mobile. With the passage of time, the Orange Shots service will be offered to entire (opted in) mobile customer base.
SMS and MMS mobile platforms are used by Orange Shots to encourage customers to message back and give views and opinions. A number of other benefits like news and gossip, content, film and games previews, and sports information are also available.
Starcomms expand its network reach

Vodafone Czech Republic ARPU at USD 30
Vodafone Czech Republic achieved 49,000 net customers additions between July – September 2009, the largest quarterly growth in 2009. Net customer growth for January-September was 92,000 users.
The operator has over 2.984 million mobile subscribers as on 30 September, up 5.5 percent year-on-year.
Postpay subscribers stood at 1.54 million approx.
Mobile ARPU reported is CZK 522 or USD 30 approx.
Aside from key Stats: Vodafone CZ is promoting a free MMS offer where it will offer 77 free MMS messages per month for the next four months for its subscribers. Customers need to apply for the bundle, which will continue after the free period with a monthly fee.
Hutchison 3G Austria modernizes its network for HSPA+ and LTE
Hutchison 3G Austria is modernizing its radio access network to be ready for HSPA+ and the next generation of mobile broadband, or LTE. At the same time this step will allow the operator to halve the energy consumption of its base stations. Nokia Siemens Networks will undertake this upgrade starting in autumn 2009.
