Brazil expected to introduce number portability in H2 2008
Brazil plans to introduce fixed and mobile number portability in the second half of 2008, according to Anatel board member Pedro Jaime Ziller, local press reports. In order to generate interest, the cost of transferring the number to another operator must be low, he said. Anatel will put the general regulations on portablity up for public consultation for 45 days, starting from 4 September.
