Wellesley-based Mobixell Networks has entered into a partnership with Milan, Italy’s digital entertainment company Buongiorno, in which the companies will provide a new platform and managed service for mobile operators that will power social networking through mobile content sharing.
According to Mobixell officials, the partnership will use Buongiorno’s expertise in managed content services and its B!3A Digital Marketplace technology in combination with Mobixell’s V-Mark platform for mobile multimedia content sharing.
Financial details of the deal were not released.
The Buongiorno Digital Marketplace platform will provide the tools to handle content aggregation, content management, portal management (browsing and downloading), service delivery, billing, reporting and business intelligence. Mobixell’s V-Mark Viral Mobile Content Sharing system will power the new service, establishing a content inventory through distribution, promotion and analysis.
Founded in 2000, privately held Mobixell has raised $23 million in funding to date. The company operates offices in North America, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, China, Japan. It also operates a research and development facility in Israel.
