Fourth French mobile licence process to launch by summer-end
www.WirelessFederation.com/news: The French Government is anticipated to introduce the process to allocate frequencies for the fourth mobile licence by end of 2009 summer.
The government has asked an official body to evaluate the right price for the license, and this body should render its opinion within the next couple of weeks, Luc Chatel, Spokesman of the Government.
“We want to be certain” that the state will not lose out, he added. A fourth mobile operator “won’t be designated before the end of the year” due to the delays linked to the tender offer, Luc Chatel added.
The government had announced earlier that a set of frequencies are set aside for a new mobile operator would cost around EUR206 million and that the tender to auction the frequencies should be launched before the summer.
