Varujan Pambuccian: legislation in telecommunications field must be modified

ANRC must adapt the legislation to the new realities in the field and rethink the most relevant concepts of the market, stated the president of the Commission for IT&C within the Chamber of Deputies, Varujan Pambuccian. If we take into consideration RomTelecom case, it is obvious it can no longer be considered a dominant operator, as it was perceived in 2003. All regulations that targeted the national landline phone operator matched a reality that ended several months ago,??? said Pambuccian. These statements come as a response to the criticism launched on Sunday by juridical and PR manager of RomTelecom, Catalin Dima, regarding the legislation in the field of telecommunications, which allegedly created an imbalance in this activity sector and hindered the company in competing with mobile and TV cable operators on equal terms.
