Ortiva Wireless dials up $15M in Series B financing
Mobile video solutions provider Ortiva Wireless announced the completion of a $15 million Series B funding round led by Comcast Interactive Capital, with full participation from current investors Artiman Ventures, Mission Ventures, and Avalon Ventures. The company said the funds are targeted to meet the growing demand for its Media Streamer mobile video platform and Mobile-CDN hosted service.
“With the increasing availability of rich mobile content, Ortiva’s ability to enable mobile service providers to improve quality of experience, while more efficiently utilizing scarce spectrum resources, yields a truly unique market advantage,” said Comcast Interactive Capital managing director Louis A. Toth. “Content providers can maximize the value of their investments and deliver high quality optimized video streams to individual consumers by using Ortiva’s Mobile-CDN.”
In related news, Ortiva announced that following completion of a commercial trial, made-for-mobile television network GoTV has begun transitioning portions of its on-demand mobile video platform to the Mobile-CDN content delivery service.
