Orange Slovakia tablet package offers
Orange Slovakia has introduced a combination data plan for both a phone and tablet. Orange World 5,000 MB can be used on both devices, both in Slovakia and abroad. Customers get two SIM cards.
When packed with a normal tariff plan, customers get a discount on the devices. With the Dream Plan and the package Orange World 5,000 MB with monthly fee of US$53.78-82.08, the combination of a mobile and tablet attracts a discount of US$707.65.
A discount of US$1061.4 applies if a voice plan with the package Orange World 5,000 MB results in a monthly fee up to US$110.39, and with a monthly payment over US$110.39, the discount is US$1415.3. The package Orange World 5,000 MB costs US$22.50 a month and includes 5,000 MB pre-paid data at 7.2 Mbps. Above the limit, the speed falls to 64 kbps.
The package can be divided between two SIM cards (multiple of 1,000 MB). Automatic benefit of the roaming data package Europe Data is provided on the SIM card to the tablet, with which 1 MB in Orange partner networks costs US$0.12 and in other EU and Switzerland networks US$0.69.
Sony Ericsson slashes prices of Android phones in Thailand
Sony Ericsson is cutting the prices of Android phones by 20 percent in an attempt to achieve a double-digit share in smartphone sales in Thailand, reports The Bangkok Post. The company’s local market share fell last year, mainly due to a lack of Thai-language application support. Smartphones are expected to account for half of local phone sales this year, up from 30 percent last year and 10 percent in 2009. Sony Ericsson has sold 9 million smartphones globally since it entered the segment in mid-2010. Smartphones contributed half of its handset sales revenue. It has nearly a 20 percent share of Android phone sales worldwide and 5 percent of the overall handset market. Sony Ericsson Thailand would soon introduce three new models namely Xperia Arc for THB 19,900, Xperia Neo for THB 14,900 and the Xperia Pro. The phones will cost 20 percent less locally than in other markets. Sony Ericsson has appointed business process services company Synnex as its local IT distributor to expand the market.
Goal.com to be launched on Mobile
The football website Goal.com and Handmark are set to launch the Goal.com mobile app for iPhone while preparing for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The app will be supporting the content in four languages- English UK; English US; Spanish Spain; Spanish US; Spanish Latin America; French; and Italian.
The app will enable a user to access the latest breaking football news, including the 2010 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League and transfer activity. It can be downloaded for free from the Handmark website.
Zodiak to launch FlirtMaps for iPhone
Zodiak Entertainment, content producer has announced the launch of a mobile location-based dating iPhone application, beta version of FlirtMaps. The app can be downloaded free of cost via the Apple App Store in the UK, US, and Italy very soon.
FlirtMaps are designed to put forward a selection of interesting†people to chat to in the area. It is based on a user’s current location and dating preferences. The application has been developed by Neo Network, the digital subsidiary of the Zodiak Entertainment Group.

Opera crosses 100m Users, Launches on iPhone
Opera Software recently revealed that their browsers are being used by over 100 million people worldwide. While over 50 million users are on Windows, Mac and Linux computers another 50 million use Opera Mini on mobile phones, plus a smaller number use Opera browser on game consoles, TVs and set-top boxes.
According to Opera CEO, Lars Boilesen, Opera’s record growth shows that they are on the right track, and that as user needs grow, they are growing right along with them.
In his opinion, Opera for Desktop delivers the fastest browsing experience on the planet, with a visionary approach to features and a user-friendly design.
The software has also announced of the approval of Opera Mini for iPhone and iPod touch on the Apple App Store. Depending on the market the software will be available for free download very soon.

Vogue Stylist launches iPhone app to match user wardrobe with advertiser products
Vogue, the worldwide renowned fashion magazine has created an iPhone application that pairs products from advertisers such as Valentino and Gucci with style items from consumers’ own personal collections.
Customers can take photos of the items owned by them and scroll through the various trends highlighted by the Vogue Stylist, then hit refresh to restyle their look. Users have a plethora of options for shopping including products from brands such as Gucci, Hudson Jeans, Kate Spade, Longchamp Paris, Nine West, Valentino and Via Spiga.

Ten One launches Autograph for iPhone
Autograph for iPhone has been launched by Ten One Design. It is an iPhone app aimed to enable users to create digital signatures directly on the iPhone’s touchscreen and automatically insert them into electronic documents on their Mac or PC via wi-fi.
The function of the app takes place in conjunction with Ten One Design’s free Autograph Helper program that, once downloaded, runs on the user’s computer to quickly and conveniently receives signatures from iPhone or iPod touch devices.
mmCHANNEL unveils Mobile Storefront API
mmCHANNEL, mobile marketing and digital content firm has unveiled a new b2b API (Application Programming Interface) Service. This service aims at enabling any digital agency or brand to launch their own digital download store as part of a marketing campaign.
Once the digital store is built into an existing mobile portal or website, customers can choose whether to have content pushed to their phone via SMS or saved to their PC.
RCS Features are in demand: research
A study has revealed that that an overwhelming proportion of British mobile phone owners want access to RCS (Rich Communication Suite) features.
As per the report 31% of 18-to-14 year old want to see their friends’ status from within their mobile phone address book, but that only 5% have phones that offer this feature. 51% would to like to see their friends’ location in their address book, something that has been recently added to RCS.
According to a source, while the current RCS initiative is rounding out nicely, there is clearly more work to be done, especially with social network integration.
