LG to launch LG GB109 in Ukraine from August

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: LG has reportedly unveiled a new candybar handset, dubbed as LG GB109, which will be available in Ukraine from the beginning of August.
LG GB109 is a entry level phone and targets the subscribers who require cheap and basic handsets. Its specs include: a 1.5 inch CSTN display with 65K colors, stereo FM radio, organizer, and a 950 mAh battery that can last up to 6 hours in talk-time or up to 440 hours in stand-by time.

The LG GB109 also has some quick-access keys (for FM radio and messaging).

In Ukraine, the retail price of LG GB109 will be of only 389 UAH (about $148).

True Move launches promotion in collaboration with WellCom (Thailand)

Philippines senate looks into operators’ policy of forfeiting talktime

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: The Filipino senate has asked the mobile oeprators of the country Globe Telecoms, Smart Communications, and Digitel Mobile (Sun Cellular) to explain the disappearing of talk-time. A senate committee is looking into the policy set by mobile operators according to which the talktime is forfeited if it is not used within a certain time. The senate enquiry is also looking at what regulators are doing to protect the interest of mobile subscribers. The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) said it was hampered by a court order that has disallowed the implementation of guidelines on the expiration of call credits.
Implementation of Memorandum 13-06-2000 was halted by a court eight years ago. The memorandum reportedly imposes rules on interconnection agreements, billing statements, call rates, and the sale and use of prepaid cards

HTC launches HTC Snap

The handset is dubbed as HTC Snap which has a Inner Circle key which brings e-mails from a preselected group of people to the top of their inbox, enabling inbox prioritisation.
The smartphone offers a talktime of up to eight and a half hours and a keyboard with extra-large domed keys and tactile feedback, a trackball for menu navigation.
