Apple iPhone 3G launches in South Africa on 28 September (South Africa)
The market sources reveal that, Apple has set 28 September as the date for the launch of iPhone 3G in South Africa. The iPhone 3G will be launched with Vodacom both on contract and prepaid option.
About the pricing, it is likely that the contract will include a R1500 to R2000 pay-in on a business contract for the 8GB model, and a R2000 to R2500 pay-in for the 16GB model.
For prepaid options, the iPhone 3G will likely retail for between R5000 and R6000 for the 8GB model, and between R7000 and R8000 for the 16GB model.
Vodacom is still in the final stages of pricing and awaiting approval for the handheld on its network, but Cellucity branches are already advertising the 28 September launch date.
