BPL taps Comverse to upgrade billing system

TelecoMasia writes….India’s BPL Mobile signed a deal with Comverse, a supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication and billing services, to upgrade the wireless carrier’s billing system.

The two firms however did not disclose financial details of the deal.

Under the deal, Comverse will replace BPL’s existing solution to manage its growing subscriber base and provide innovative service packages that address new market needs and opportunities.

In a statement, Comverse also said solutions are based on an open architecture, providing BPL Mobile with the marketing flexibility to introduce competitive prepaid offers and real-time usage-based promotions, bonuses and discounts that match the needs of its diverse subscriber base.

The solutions can smoothly scale to support virtually unlimited capacity, allowing BPL to increase market share and maximize profitability, Comverse said.
