Glo goes for expansion in 6 countries with its prepaid roaming service (Nigeria)

The international subsidiary of Nigeria’s Globacom, Glo gateway on its move to expand its prepaid roaming service to six additional countries, said company head Charles Odias. Outbound roaming service is avaliable to Glo Mobile customers in Spain, South Africa, Belgium, Turkey, Ukraine and Algeria.

Extention of the service to the U.S. and several other European and Middle Eastern countries to complement the postpaid roaming service available in over 140 countries on the network is yet to be work upon.

“We are committed to the convenience of our subscribers. We want to make it possible for postpaid, as well as prepaid, subscribers to access our services, even when they are abroad on business or leisure,” Odiase stated

This service is offered on CAMEL (Customized Application for Mobile Enhanced Logic) phase 2 roaming, Odiase explained. CAMEL phase 2 enables prepaid customer to make and receive calls, as well as receive text messages, while roaming outside Nigeria.
