Oman Mobile grants resale rights to firms using its infrastructure (Oman)

Oman Mobile, the state-owned incumbent of Oman, becomes the very first company in Middle East region to grant resale rights to firms using its infrastructure. The telco has signed contracts with Renna and FRiENDi Mobile allowing them to resell mobile services to subscribers across Oman using their own brands and marketing and sales channels.
The deal will also enable the new resellers to develop and offer services of their own. Dr Amer Al Rawas, Oman Mobile Managing Director, said the Sultanate had become ‘the first country in the Middle East to introduce mobile resellers.’ The move, he added, would benefit customers by giving them more value added services and choice. These measures will significantly develop the Omani mobile market by increasing the level of mobile penetration, addressing new segments, offering more innovative services and extending the access of mobile services to the mass market,” he said, adding: The agreements with Renna and FRiENDi Mobile are a concrete response from Oman Mobile to the decisions and policies set forth by the government and the TRA.”
