Telefonica brings Samsung Ultra Touch to Spain

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Telefonica has brought the Samsung Ultra Touch slider phone to the Spanish Mobile Market. The Samsung Ultra Touch features a 2.8-inch Amoled touchscreen display and an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus, as well as support for HSDPA, UMTS and EDGE/GPRS connectivity. The slider phone features a 2.4-inch TFT QVGA screen, and comes preinstalled with the ShoZu software for photo and video upload. The phone also supports RSS and a document reader. The mobile handset price tag ranges between EUR 0 and EUR 149 for ported subscribers and between EUR 0 and EUR 179 for Telefonica prepaid subscribers who switch to a postpaid plan. The price of the phone depends upon the data tariff plan selected.

Presently, the operator is offering voice packages at monthly fees of EUR 9, 20, 40, 60 and 90 and data plans for EUR 10 or 15 per month. Telefonica reported that it has exceeded 1 million flat-rate data tariff and mobile phone bundle subscribers and is near 7 million 3G services subscribers across Spain.
