only half a shilling at anytime of the day.

According to Sasatel’s Managing Director, Mr Christian Haeger, not only mobile customers but also those customers who purchase internet and  fixed wireless phone can also enjoy Sasatel’s new tariff rate of half a shilling per second 24 hours a day.

The voice tariff can be bought from their shops located in Libya, Jamhuri, Msimbazi, Kariakoo, Msasani streets and Toure drive.

Sasatel sign up for Seacom cable

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Sasatel became one of the few telecom companies in Tanzania to sign up for connection to the Seacom cable.  The move is aimed to deliver superior service, speed and reliability to its Internet customers.

According to Sasatel Chief Technical Officer, Jonas Edgren, due to the passage of Sasatel Internet traffic through the Seacom cable, Sasatel customers can now avail the facility of efficient and high quality internet connectivity.

Sasatel also provides affordable internet connection to homes and individuals including small, medium and large businesses through its CDMA network via EVDO WiFi Routers, the EVDO Modem and the Fixed Wireless phone.

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: In a move to tighten its grip in the highly competitive digital market, Sasatel came up with the cheapest internet connection charges for the small and medium enterprises (SMEs). These SMEs occupies biggest
chunk of the corporate sector.

The mobile operator said that the move aims at enabling companies prove the high speed and reliability of its broadband Internet services. The SMEs will be given free internet connection for a week and the one who will join after the testing period would be offered several digital devices free of charge.

According to Marketing manager Derick Byarugaba, after one week the company will issue excellent internet connection devices for free to all those who sign up for any of Sasatel’s post-paid internet bundles, depending on their average monthly data usage. The kit will include EVDO WiFi Router, the USB Modem and the Fixed Wireless Phone.

In these new internet bundles, without paying any extra money the customers could carry forward the balance of unutilized volume on their internet bundles at the end of any month to the following month. Besides, the purchased data volume can be used for over six month.

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Dovetel, the Tanzanian mobile operator trading under the name Sasatel, has launched its CDMA service. Sasatel said in a statement that the roll-out of its network would be undertaken in phases. The initial roll-out covers major parts of the largest city Dar es Salaam, and the next phase of network expansion will cover the rest of Dar es Salaam and all other major cities in Tanzania.
The TCRA licenced the operator in June 2008 to offer voice and data services, internet service provision and international gateway services. The operator will operate on a CDMA network offering high speed internet and prepaid packages. The company will offer fixed-wireless phones that have internet connectivity capabilities as well as mobile phones. The company will further offer Wi-Fi routers and broadband EV-DO modems for high-speed internet access.
