www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Orange intends to work on cost cutting in most of its African operation by using the “Cell Broadcast” technique, the director responsible for emerging countries, Arnauld Blondet reportedly said.
“We launched Cell Broadcast in Botswana under the (local) name Sesolo. With the number of people interested in that offer, we can be optimistic about trying it soon in most of our African subsidiaries,” Blondet said.
“The freer the network, the least communication there will be. In that case, promotions can be given. In Africa, the use of text messages and cell phone internet is still limited. So we will focus our offers to vocal communications,” he further said.
