­Music identification service, Shazam has announced a deal to incorporate the music streaming service, Spotify into its free and premium Apps for iPhone, iPod touch and Android.

Consequently, Shazamers will be able to access Spotify directly through a new ‘Play in Spotify’ feature, which will directly take the user to Spotify where they can easily listen to the full track that they either tagged or discovered within Shazam from recommendations or the Shazam charts.

‘Play in Spotify’ integrates with the Spotify Premium App in UK, Sweden, Norway, Finland, France, Spain and the Netherlands.

According to Andrew Fisher, CEO of Shazam, integrating Spotify into Shazam’s applications combines’ music discovery with one of the world’s most popular music streaming services, providing a seamless experience for music fans at the point of inspiration in any location. Spotify is delivering an innovative, high quality experience to music lovers and we’re excited to bring the Spotify service to Shazam.

As of today, users of premium Apps Shazam Encore and (SHAZAM) RED will be able to combine their ability to access unlimited tagging with the new ‘Play in Spotify’ feature for an unparalleled and unrestricted mobile music discovery and streaming service.

The Shazam free App, available with five tags per month, will include the same feature later in Q1.

Nokia has unveiled its ­two­ new Symbian based Smartphones – the Nokia E7 and Nokia C7 to form a family of Symbian products. The company also declared its latest beta release of free Ovi Maps with new pedestrian and motorist features.

Nokia also revealed an improved C6 for smartphone users. The new Smartphones will include a completely updated Ovi Store experience. The new store experience is driven by a friendlier user interface and a new collections feature to quickly access popular apps and games available now, or soon. In addition to this Ovi Store will continue to offer exclusive apps including Audiotube, Tesco and others along with favorites like Fring, Shazam, and Asphalt 5.

According to Niklas Savander, Executive Vice President, Markets, Nokia, today the company’s fight back to smartphone leadership shifts into high gear. Despite new competition, Symbian remains the most widely used smartphone platform in the world. The new family of smartphones introduced today features the all-new Symbian OS, rewritten to be faster, easier to use, more efficient and more developer friendly.

Nokia E7 is a phone with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync on board. It provides direct, real-time and secure access to corporate email inboxes and other personal applications. E7 is equipped with a 4-inch touchscreen display featuring Nokia ClearBlack technology for improved outdoor visibility and a full keyboard. Where as Nokia C7 features a 3.5-inch AMOLED display and a combination of stainless steel, glass and soft edges.

Relevant ads will be served to the customers for O2 Priority pre-sales based on the music they have tagged through Shazam’s iPhone application.

According to Mark Slade, managing director of 4th Screen Advertising, London, O2 is the first operator in the UK to have the iPhone, so they have the highest market share of iPhone user base, and a high percentage of Shazam iPhone app users are their customers and the campaign is driven around their association with music here in the UK.
