Connect is a social networking dashboard and will be available to Virgin Mobile USA’s prepaid subscribers on the Shuttle, Jax or X-tc handsets. The Connect interface enables subscribers to connect to Facebook, MySpace, Flickr and YouTube. This service is used to aggregate status updates, invitations and requests, new photos and videos, comments and messages. Connect also offers integrated standard RSS reader to stay up-to-date news sites, blogs and e-zines.
On the other hand, Opera Mini will enable prepaid subscribers to enhance their web mobile browsing experience. Opera Mini 4.2 also has additional features like personalisation through customized skins, notes and speed dial available from Opera Broswer and scrolling short cuts. Opera Mini 4.2 will be available on most Virgin Mobile USA prepaid handsets including Slash, Shuttle, Arc and a few post-paid handsets including the Ocean 2. Subscribers can sign up for any monthly or prepaid data pack plan ranging from USD 5 for 5 MB of data on prepaid plans to USD 10 for 50 MB of data on a monthly plan.
