Comviva to provide SMS Router to Ezypt’s Mobinil

With the help of a new class of message intelligence from SMS Router, Mobinil can optimize delivery, improve handling of high throughput requirements, efficient load share and integrate SMSCs.

Mobinil can hugely improve its message handling capacity as SMS Router will integrate all SMSCs across the network into one virtual SMS processing platform, thus reducing the burden on some SMSCs and exploit latent SMS processing power elsewhere.

Vodafone free SMS weekend a hit with the customers (Netherlands)

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Free SMS weekend offered by Vodafone in Netherlands on 17 and 18 November emerged as an instant hit with the customers. The offer was given until Sunday noon after the speech network was hit by a nationwide breakdown.

9.00-11.00 am on Sunday, the SMS traffic was 2.3 times more than normal with most of the SMS sent by the prepaid customers. On Saturday night, between 10.00-11.00 pm, the traffic increased by almost 50 percent as the subscribed customers sent maximum number of texts.

Between 6.00-9.00 pm, during Sinterklaas evening, the traffic rose by 21 percent than normal.

France adds 447,400 mobile customers in Q2

and its overseas counties and territories at the end of June, 477,400 more than three months earlier, according to French regulator Arcep’s latest mobile market survey. At the end of June 2005, the figure was 45.38 million. The number of postpaid customers rose to 31.69 million from 31.03 million at the end of March and from 28.53 million at the end of June 2005.
