Spice Mobiles unveils S-7000- a new video phone in India
www.WirelessFederation.com/news: New video phone S-7000 priced at Rs 7,499 has been launched by handset maker Spice Mobiles in India. Exclusive content of the upcoming action adventure film Prince of Persia – Sands of Time will be offered by the firm in the handset in partnership with Disney India.
Some of the features of the handset are- 3.2-inch full touchscreen for wide screen viewing, digital surround sound and multiple format video player, 3.2 megapixel camera, bluetooth, expandable memory of 16 GB and pre-loaded social networking applications like Facebook and Nimbuzz.
According to and CEO of Spice Mobiles Kunal Ahooja, it has been a constant endeavor at Spice Mobiles to develop new product categories at affordable prices and it is very excited about its tie-up with Disney and are hoping to entertain its consumers anywhere and everywhere.
India’s Spice Televentures to merge with Spice Mobiles
www.WirelessFederation.com/news: India’s Spice Mobile limited and its telecom services arm, Spice Televentures Pvt. Ltd have finally decided to merge with each other. Spice Mobile has been valued at INR109 per share and Spice Televentures at INR862 a share by the audit firm BSR & Co.
A swap ratio of 791 Spice Mobile shares for every 100 Televentures shares has also been accepted by the board of directors of the two companies. 163.4 million shares will also be issued by the company stockholders of Spice Televentures, resulting in an equity capital of INR190.9 million at INR3 each while the existing Spice Mobile shares held by Televentures stockholders will be extinguished
Sony Ericsson could invest in India’s Spice (India)
Sony Ericsson is in talks to buy a majority stake in India’s Spice Mobiles, the Economic Times said, citing unnamed sources.
A Total Telecom report added that the Modi group, which holds more than 63% of Spice, is seeking 80 rupees(€1.17, US$1.87)-100 rupees (€1.44, US$2.3) per share, which would value Spice Mobiles near 7 billion rupees €103 million (US$164 million).
Spice Mobiles shares closed down 1.3% at 22.70 rupees on the Bombay Stock Exchange yesterday, the report further said.
