Apple unveils iPhone 3.0 OS software (UK)

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Apple unveils the iPhone OS 3.0 software which offers multimedia messaging (MMS), automatic alerts, and a search function that can look through thousands of applications. The new software comes with over 100 new features including MMS, the ability to send contacts, audio files and locations with the Messages app, and the ability to capture and send audio recordings with the new voice memo app.
It also offers a peer-to-peer capability which enables users, near each other, to interact with their iPhones for features such as gaming. Search capabilities will be expanded, enabling users to search within mail, iPod and notes or search across key applications by typing a key word or phrase into the new Spotlight search.
The other offered applications are Stock app which provides current company news and trading information, CalDAV support enables users to view shared calendars and sync them with iCal, Yahoo, Google and Oracle.
The new software can be downloaded by registered developers from developer.apple.com for free this summer and will cost USD 9.95 for iPod touch customers.
