Vodafone CR replaces free SMS offer for ads service with data bundles

www.WirelessFederation.com/news:Vodafone Czech Republic has replaced its SMS Gratis service, which offered students free SMS in exchange for viewing ads, with a new service. The new service offers students the Student Online bundle for mobile internet access for CZK 89 per month and the Student Extra bundle. Student Extra bundle gives all students using any Loaded tariff an additional CZK 150 for calling and SMS messages for a fee of CZK 150.
Vodafone says it has made changes to Student SMS Gratis as surveys have shown that students want to be online and would rather chat or use social network services on their mobiles to communicate with their friends instead of sending SMS messages.
The replacement also addresses the fact that advertisers who want to address students have far greater interest in mobile advertising on the Vodafone live! portal than in advertising through the SMS Gratis service. The Student SMS Gratis service remains active until 19 August.
