Life:) introduces new roaming offer for businesses (Ukraine)
life:)’s business unit has launched a roaming offer called ’50 minutes and 50 SMS in roaming’ which includes 50 minutes for incoming and outgoing calls in roaming and 50 SMS to all directions at a price of US$31.33.
Minutes can be used for any incoming calls, any outgoing calls to Ukraine (to life:) network, other mobile operators, fixed-line networks) and also for outgoing calls to networks of mobile operators in the majority of European and CIS countries.
The offer is available to all Business life:) subscribers.
MTS Belarus to reduce roaming rates
MTS Belarus will be lowering international roaming rates from 1 June. Rates for incoming calls on MTS networks in other CIS countries will be cut by 5 percent.
Rates for incoming calls in Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan will drop by 5 percent, and prices in other countries will be 20 percent lower.
The cost of outgoing calls will drop by 50 percent in the CIS countries at night. In all other areas of the world, the cost of incoming calls will be cut by 20 percent.
Vega claims $1.81 million from Kyivstar (Ukraine)
Vega has submitted a counter-appeal against mobile operator Kyivstar to the Kiev Economy Court.
According to reports, Vega is demanding compensation of US$$1.81 million. The legal dispute relates to the interconnection of their networks. Kyivstar earlier submitted an appeal claiming US$1.21 million from Vega.
NKRZ issues licences to three regional operators (Ukraine)
NKRZ, Ukraine’s national telecommunications regulator has issued licences to three regional operators.
Luch has received a licence for broadband services in the Odessa region. Prikarpatye has got a licence for wireless telephony services under the DECT standard in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
Firma Netkom has received a licence for broadband services in the Kherson region.
Euroset inaugurates Communications Palace in Krasnoyarsk (Russia)
Euroset, a mobile retail chain has opened another Communications Palace, its first in in Siberia, in Krasnoyarsk.
Euroset currently operates six such outlets across the country; three are located in Moscow, the fourth in Orsk in the Orenburg region and the fifth in Ryazan. Each outlet exceeds 170 square meters.
Euroset also announced a new online shop in Ryazan. The chain currently has 35 online shops in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
Eight online shops are operating in the Central part of Russia. Over 1,000 products are offered on the online shop in Ryazan, with goods delivered there within a day of ordering.
Elisa slashes roaming rates in Ukraine
Elisa has announced that it has lowered roaming rates for subscribers travelling to Ukraine.
The offer is available on the network of mobile operator MTS Ukraine. Rates for calls to Estonia were reduced by up to 65 percent, SMS prices fall by up to 53 percent, and the cost of internet services was cut by up to 77 percent.
Euroset launches online shops in Petrozavodsk, Stavropol (Russia)
Euroset, a mobile retail chain has introduced two new online shops in Petrozavodsk and Stavropol.
The chain offers over 1,000 products on the online shops. Euroset currently operates online shops in 33 major cities in Russia and Ukraine.
Handsets comprise over 50 percent of sales from Euroset online shops in North-Western and Southern Russia.
Ukraine mobile market rise to 53.6 mn subscribers
A recent study has revealed that the number of mobile subscribers in Ukraine grew 0.3 percent month-on-month to 53.61 million in March.
Mobile penetration totaled 117.2 percent. Kyvistar’s subscriber increased by 231,229 to 24.398 million, MTS Ukraine had 18.278 million customers, Astelit dropped by 130,000 to 8.710 million, and Ukrtelecom was up 1.3 percent to 673,975 subscribers.
The subscriber base at Peoplenet grew by 1.2 percent to 648,042, and the number at Intertelecom increased by 1 percent to 556,729.
Intertelecom expands promo on 3G modems (Ukraine)
Intertelecom has expanded its promotion on 3G modems for US$0.12 until 31 May.
The modems from Huawei, the EC 226 and EC 122, are offered for corporate subscribers across the country.
Consumer subscribers can get the modem for US$0.12 in new regions of activity for the operator until 31 May.
Intertelecom has recently launched services in the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Lugansk, Lviv and Zaporizhya regions.
Kiev airport receives free Wi-Fi (Ukraine)
The Ministry of Infrastructure has announced that passengers at the Borispil international airport near Kiev are offered free Wi-Fi from 1 May.
Wireless service is currently available in all the terminals of the airport.
