Taiwanese wireless operator Vibo Telecom has indicated that it is expecting to launch its long-mooted HSPA+ network in 2011, after missing its previous rollout target of December 2010.
The company has promised to invest a further US$68.9 million in expanding its infrastructure. According to Vibo President Chang Feng-Hsiung, last year’s delay in capacity expansion and network upgrades greatly impacted the company’s ability to expand its customer base, because of insufficient capacity, they did not launch an extensive marketing campaign to increase the number of subscribers, which affected the company’s financial performance. Vibo will be able to break even this year, if they can expand their network and customers as planned.
