www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Sony Ericsson, the Swedish handset manufacturer, has reportedly launched a fashion phone dubbed Jalou. The handset adorns a facet-cut diamond shape design, the HSPA handset features a Walk Mate step counter as well as a screen that becomes a mirror at the touch of a button. Other features include the 3.2 megapixel camera, music player, video recording, 3G, Bluetooth, built-in FM radio and internet access. Jalou will be available in various gem-inspired colours, including deep amethyst, aquamarine blue and onyx black in selected markets in the fourth quarter.
The manufacturer will also introduce a limited edition of the handset in a 24-carat gold plating, complete with exclusive packaging and accessories, including three silky rose satin bags to protect the phone, store the charger, or carry jewellery.
The rose-coloured phone will come preloaded with special content, such as exclusive photography and video clips from Dolce & Gabbana’s women’s Autumn/Winter 2010 runway show and backstage footage, as well as stylish themes and wallpapers and a Dolce & Gabbana blog that sends the latest trends, news and gossip directly to the mobile phone via a RSS feed. The Jalou by Dolce&Gabbana will be available on selected markets in Q4′09 in Sparkling Rose colour.

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Virgin Mobile France, the MVNO, has launched the Paradyse range of contract plans between 17 June and 31 July, offering unlimited messaging, calls or internet access, depending on the option chosen. The subscribers will have to pay EUR 19.90 per month on a two-year contract or EUR 22.90 on a one-year contract to enjoy 1 hour of calls plus unlimited SMS, e-mail and Messenger.
The same plan which offers 3 hours of airtime costs EUR 27.90 or EUR 32.90, depending on the time period of contract. Virgin has also launched Paradyse plans with unlimited calls to five numbers on any network, plus unlimited SMS, internet access, e-mail and Messenger for EUR 31.90 per month with 2 hours of call time (EUR 34.90 on a one-year contract) and EUR 42.90 with 4 hours of call time (EUR 47.90 one-year). The biggest offer is the fully unlimited option, including calls, SMS, internet up to 500 MB, e-mail and Messenger. It costs EUR 89 per month with no contract or handset, and EUR 99 on a two-year contract with subsidised phone, or EUR 109 on a one-year contract with phone. Subscribers can call or send SMS to up to 99 different people every month and the maximum call length is set at 3 hours.

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Mongolian operator MobiCom has launched the first high-speed mobile broadband network in the country, powered by HSPA technology from Ericsson. The launch enables MobiCom to introduce mobile broadband services to its subscribers across Mongolia, starting in the capital Ulaanbaatar where about 40 percent of the country’s 3 million inhabitants live.
Ericsson’s leading HSPA technology provides fast data-transmission speeds, boosts network capacity and lowers response times for interactive services. The new HSPA-enabled network will allow MobiCom to offer a range of new services, such as high-speed mobile internet access, video telephony, multimedia messaging (MMS) and other innovative multimedia services related to e-health and e-commerce.
Under the contract, Ericsson is the sole supplier of the WCDMA/HSPA radio access network. It is also responsible for network deployment and a wide range of professional services, including systems integration of MobiCom’s multi-vendor network, support and competence development.

The French mobile operator SFR has reported to launch the iPhone 3G on 8th April 2009 and will be available in its 800 stores and online as well. The announcement has come soon after Orange lost exclusivity of Apple iPhone 3G in France.
SFR has also revealed the cost of the iPhone 3G wherein 8 GB version and the 16GB version will be priced at $126.06 and $252.9 respectively, with Illimythics plans, offering unlimited SMS, e-mail, internet access and Wi-Fi.

The Illimythics for iPhone subscribers will range from 1 hour of voice calls for $53.26/per month to 4 hours of calls for $86.32, both on two-year contracts.
The iPhone 3G will also be available to prepaid subscribers.
