www.WirelessFederation.com/news: A two-year frame contract to deliver professional services has been signed between the networks business of Motorola and MTN group. The services include mobile network optimization and audit services to companies across mobile operator MTN Group.

Motorola’s services are currently available to eighteen MTN operating companies in Europe, Middle East and Africa region under the terms of the contract. Standard pricing, standard terms and conditions and a pre-approved ordering process will be received by MTN.

The various services options that are available to the MTN Group as per the contract will furthermore be customizable into ‘solution packs’ capable of meeting specific operational needs.

Samsung launches first Bada phone- WAVE

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: First Bada phone has been commercially launched by Samsung Electronics under the brand name, WAVE in European countries, including Germany, France and the UK, and will be expanded to Southeast Asia, China, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

The handset is priced at S8500 and is the first smartphone based on Samsung’s new, open smartphone platform, Bada.

Samsung Apps will also be made available by the company available in eighty countries while it is already available in a number of countries for Windows Mobile or Symbian based phones.

April 2010 is the official release date of the Wave aiming affordable market and is expected to retail for less than £25 a month.

According to Samsung vice president for UK and Ireland Mark Mitchinson, the quality of the product has meant that all major networks will want to stock the Wave and the device is enabling them to offer customers a smartphone for consumers wanting a feature-rich experience at a lower price point.

Samsung unveils BADA OS smartphone

www.WirelessFederation.com/news: Wave, the first phone running Samsung’s new operating system called bada has been launched by the company just a day before Mobile World Congress officially kicked off. The function was a gala event with giant video screens, crashing waves and over-sized images of jellyfish, dancers keeping rhythm to loud techno music and a trapeze artist hanging from the ceiling.

According to President of Samsung’s mobile communications division JK Shin, the company is committed to bringing the smartphone era to everyone, and making it a true democracy for billions of people on all continents in all corners of the world, this is Samsung’s vision to advance the democratization of the smartphone era, regardless of cost, or lifestyle or geographic location.

The bada smartphone OS is expected to change the concept that most of Samsung’s handsets are feature phones, which run on the company’s proprietary OS.
