India gains record 6.8 million mobile users in November

A record 6.8 million new mobile subscribers were added in India in November, according to figures from market regulator TRAI. GSM, CDMA and fixed wireless subscribers totalled 143.02 million at the end of the month. Wireline subscribers fell by 50,000 in the month to a total 40.51 million. Teledensity was up to 16.60 percent from 16.0 percent in October and 11.0 percent a year earlier. Some 80,000 broadband connections were also added in November for a total 2 million.
