Mobile TV specialist U-Turn Media will attempt to forge a presence in marketing, following a deal to power portals for the clients of Belgium’s Ring Ring Company.
The Czech company signed a reseller agreement to give Ring Ring the opportunity to provide interactive handset portals acquired via SMS, web sign-up or Bluetooth. The sites give end users access streamed or downloadable audio and video clips, images, text and other value-added services. The portal is accessed by clicking on a branded icon that resides in the main menu of the phone.
Complementing the content offering are marketing functions such as banner ads, scrolling text and pre/post reel advertising within video content. Mobile vouchers can also be offered that push consumers to points of sale by offering discounts or exclusive deals. Full reporting completes the proposition.
A mobile portal is very attractive to the brands as it gives them the opportunity to deliver an engaging experience that consumers can interact with on the move???, said Toby Downes, head of sales and marketing at U-Turn.
U-Turn is best known as a mobile TV and video services provider. Its technology has been deployed by T-Mobile and several TV broadcasters such as WKMG, ZeeTV and TV Nova. This deal puts U-Turn wholly within the mobile marketing sector.
Ring Ring is already active in the space across Belgium and France. Clients include Alfa Romeo, Belgian Post, Club Med, Coca-Cola, Ikea, Kraft Foods, Mastercard, Masterfoods, National Lottery, Nestl©, Proximus, RTBF, Sony Playstation & VRT.
