At the end of April there were 51.3 million mobile subscribers in Ukraine, down 0.1 percent from the previous month, according to figures from iKS Consulting. The number of mobile subscribers fell for the first time by 22,600 because Kyivstar and UMC no longer count inactive subscribers. However, Ukrainian Radio Systems (Beeline) added more than 91,000 new users during the month and Telesystems of Ukraine (Peoplenet) saw its subscriber base triple in April. The mobile penetration stood at 110.5 percent in April.
Kyivstar ended April with 21.97 million mobile customers, down 110,000 from the previous month, and UMC reported 20.68 million subscribers, down 71,658. Astelit added 46,000 new customers to end April with 5.92 million subscribers, and URS saw its customer base go up to 2.42 million after winning 91,124 new customers. Velton. Telecom ended the month with 103,276 customers and added 2,485 new subscribers. ITC saw its customer base grow by 4,190 to reach 74,330, and Intertelecom ended the month with 51,938 customers after adding 7,684 new subscribers. Golden Telecom was stable at 51,000, and CST-Invest added 759 new customers to reach a total of 14,028. Ukrainian Wave ended April with 12,815 customers and Telesystems of Ukraine’s customer base surged to 10,000 after adding 6,800 new subscribers.
