Russian mobile operator Vimpelcom has selected Ericsson for the implementation of a WCDMA/HSPA network and associated services. The project will be applied to seven out of nine Russian regions, including Moscow, the North Caucasus, Siberia, Volga, Northwest Russia, South Russia and the Urals.
According to the five-year agreement, Ericsson will offer a WCDMA/HSPA radio access and core network, including circuit-switching and packet-switching and subscriber management system Home Location Register (HLR). Ericsson will also provide telecom services, such as deployment and integration, systems integration, operation and maintenance assistance, technical support and training.
