Wind, 3 Italia study bids for tower networks (Italy)Two Italian cellular operators are thought to be close to finalising a deal to sell off their transmission tower networks. Wind and 3 Italia are considering offers from a number of potential buyers, Thomson Financial reports, including DTM and the US fund Texas Pacific Group; a consortium formed by Clessidra, the Benettons, and Mediaset; Abertis; MacQuarie; Apax Partners; and Vito Gamberale’s F2i fund. The tower networks have been valued at around EUR1.5 billion (USD2.1 billion).
